Bosch Tumble Dryers. Good or Bad? |
Testing Bosch Tumble Dryers - We purchased a Bosch WTA 2000 Dryer and ran it through several tests. Bosch Tumble Dryers have been part of the German Company's line for years, the Bosch company is involved in many fields, from ignition plugs through washing machines to fire alarm systems, everyone's owned a Bosch at one time or another. So how do they fare against the competition? According to the user manual, Bosch Tumble Dryers guarantees are determined by the supplier, normally 1 year. Bosch recommends you try to solve minor problems yourself, in fact they expect you to try this before calling customer service about your Bosch Tumble Dryer. Engineers call out fees and labour costs are chargeable for an unnecessary service visit. What constitutes an unnecessary visit is presumably their call while your tumble Dryer stands idly by. .We recommend The UK online shopping directory for best deals, prices and information. Installation & UseAfter removing the transit packaging, the Bosch Tumble Dryer is lined up using a spirit level on all sides. The vent hose is at the rear and must always be pulled out during the drying process. Keep the areas around the dryer clean, otherwise fluff and dust will soon clog the filter. Good ventilation is recommended, else your tumble dryer will just suck in the moist air it has just output. Bosch Tumble Dryers are generally reliable, we found ours quieter than some European rivals, results were good, taking around an hour to dry clothes. It's also fairly kind when it comes to overloading. Although of course Bosch Tumble Dryers should not be overloaded, it seems to us to be fairly forgiving if recommended loads are exceeded. We found the drum to be roomier than most. Clothes comes out of Bosch Tumble Dryers not as creased as from some machines that could be mentioned. Static electricity on garments is always a problem with tumble dryers and the Bosch Tumble Dryer is no different on this issue. The lint filter needs regular cleaning, and are switched off by simply opening the door. Bosch Tumble Dryers don't like textiles with a woolen component as this can cause crimping and felting. As mentioned above those of a diy nature will find repairs to fix problems pretty easy , though don't attempt this unless the guarantee has expired and you don't have an extended warranty. In common with some other reviewers, we find extended warranties in general overpriced and cannot recommend them. Bosch Tumble Dryers - Yes or No?Can we recommend Bosch Tumble Dryers based on our experience? As value for money, the prices are slightly more expensive than direct competitor tumble dryers, but the results in our opinion are better. Certainly once the guarantee runs out anything can happen, and some manufacturers products appear designed to give up the ghost one week after expiry of the warranty. We found this Bosch Tumble Dryer (WTA 2000) to be better than this, and so can recommend you browse the listings in The UK online shopping directory electrical goods section to get great prices.
